Children of the Whales

In a world of perpetual sand seas, the Mud Whale floats like an oasis, home to a community of individuals endowed with the saimia abilities that both empower and threaten their existence. Chakuro, a young archivist at 14, diligently documents the lives and stories of his fellow inhabitants. While the Mud Whale is their only known refuge, curiosity leads Chakuro and his friends to discover other islands, yet they remain oblivious to the existence of humans outside their own community. This changes when Chakuro encounters a girl from an island as vast as their home during one of his voyages. Through their encounter, Chakuro's destiny unfolds in unexpected ways, challenging notions of self and opening up new horizons to explore the wider world beyond the confines of the Mud Whale.
