In this gritty drama set in a Southern California beach town, we follow the turbulent life of 17-year-old Joshua "J" Cody after his mother's tragic death from a heroin overdose. Unable to stay with his estranged father, he moves in with his unconventional and fiercely independent relatives led by Smurf, a tough and uncompromising matriarch. As J navigates his new environment, he is introduced to the complex dynamics between her sons - Baz, Pope, Craig, and Deran. Each brother has their own distinct personality, with Baz managing the family business and calling the shots, while Pope remains the oldest and most dangerous member. Craig is fearless, and Deran, the youngest, grapples with his suspicions and inner turmoil. Amidst the chaos of this unconventional family, J must learn to adapt to survive and find his place within their intricate world.
