Yukito Kunisaki, a young traveler, embarks on a quest to find the legendary Winged Maiden whose existence was whispered in tales from his youth. Along the way, Yukito performs puppet shows as a means of sustenance while exploring various towns. Upon arriving at an unassuming small town, Yukito's plans for a brief sojourn take an unexpected detour when he befriends Misuzu, a peculiar girl who welcomes him into her home and invites him to stay. This chance encounter sets the stage for an evolving friendship that challenges both their lives in ways they never could have anticipated.
