In Manchester, England during the 1970s, the Khan family grapples with their daily challenges as they adhere to strict Pakistani traditions. As the youngest member, Sajid, enters adolescence, he finds himself caught in the crossfire of his father's unyielding expectations and the harsh bullying at school. In an attempt to salvage Sajid's future, his father decides to send him on a journey to Punjab to reunite with Mrs. Khan No 1 and their long-lost family members, whom his father abandoned 35 years prior. This emotional journey of self-discovery will force Sajid to confront the complexities of tradition and identity as he navigates through the trials of adolescence in a foreign land.
