In 1973 Italy, disillusioned fascist congressman Giuseppe Tritoni (Ugo Tognazzi) embarks on a dangerous endeavor to orchestrate a coup d'état against his own political party. Building relationships with Italian Army officers, he meticulously plans the uprising. However, his clandestine actions inadvertently come to the attention of the Interior Minister Mr. Li Masi (Lino Pugliesi), who takes swift countermeasures.With the coup jeopardized, Tritoni resorts to desperate measures - kidnapping the Italian Republic's president, resulting in his tragic death. With the situation now favoring him, Minister Li Masi carries out a power grab, effectively seizing control of the country. Meanwhile, a defeated Tritoni finds himself contemplating the application of his coup strategies in Africa. This darkly comedic political thriller showcases the complexities of power dynamics and the consequences of ambitious schemes that threaten the stability of a nation.
