Vizontele Tuuba

Set during a tumultuous time of political chaos, "Vizontele" follows Guner Sernikli, a government official who is unexpectedly appointed as head librarian to an isolated province, essentially serving as a form of exile due to the lack of a library in the village. Along with his wife and their wheelchair-bound daughter, they are met with warm welcomes from the locals. However, these tranquil moments are juxtaposed against the backdrop of a nation embroiled in leftist/rightist clashes, causing the youth of the village to be drawn into the fray.As Guner endeavors to bring wisdom and order to the community, his daughter Tuba provides a sense of beauty, innocence, and love that not everyone appreciates. Amidst a landscape of confusion and turmoil, characters such as the Mayor, Nazmi Dogan, and Emin represent the few who value these qualities. Based on the memories of writer-director Yılmaz Erdoğan's own childhood in Hakkâri, Turkey during 1980, "Vizontele" captures the essence of a bygone era while exploring themes of change and the struggle for stability in a rapidly evolving world.
