In the seemingly serene suburban landscape filled with row houses lies a complex world where characters struggle to find balance and happiness amidst various challenges. Luca Attorre, a hard-working freelance journalist, grapples with his financial struggles as he tries to keep Susi, a talented ballerina now reduced to teaching dance to overweight women, afloat. Their young daughter, Lucilla, adds another layer of difficulty to the family dynamic; she suffers from severe bronchial asthma, making life even more precarious for the Attorres.However, they receive some financial assistance from Pierpaolo, Luca's teenage son from a previous relationship who lives with his mother and grandfather in an Art Nouveau house. The grandfather is a well-known trial lawyer specializing in high-profile political cases, but the family's wealth does not extend to the Attorre household.
