In the heart of Dublin's working-class neighborhood, 'Bimbo' Reeves finds himself out of a job and facing an uncertain future. However, a serendipitous twist comes in the form of his redundancy payout which he decides to invest in a van for selling fish and chips. He partners up with his close friend Larry to embark on this new venture.
