The Sun Will Rise

In Tehran during October 2022, a dedicated theatre ensemble passionately rehearses Aristophanes' ancient Greek comedy, Lysistrata. Their immersion into the narrative is abruptly interrupted by the sound of chaos erupting outside: anti-riot forces surrounding their building as they attempt to suppress an extensive demonstration. As fear and anger ripple through the room, differing opinions arise within the ensemble - some favor hiding, while others, led by the leading actress, advocate joining the protesting crowd. Amidst this unrest, one consensus emerges: the group will no longer perform their play amidst this revolution unfolding before their eyes. The stage becomes a microcosm of societal struggles and individual choices in the face of historical change.
