The Silent Twins

The Gibbons twins, June and Jennifer, grow up as the only Black family members in a tight-knit Welsh community during the 1970s and '80s. The sisters find solace in each other's company, creating their own world where they can express their dreams and desires. However, as they become teenagers, their fantasies take a darker turn and they resort to vandalism, leading to their confinement at Broadmoor, an infamous psychiatric hospital. In this alien environment, the siblings must confront their inner demons while grappling with the decision whether to survive separately or succumb to their shared fate together. This poignant coming-of-age story weaves a tale of isolation, identity, and the enduring bond between sisters in an era marked by societal prejudice and cultural barriers.
