In this emotionally-charged film, Mikiya Kokutou entrusts Shiki Ryougi with a feline companion while he is away, unaware of the complex relationship that will soon develop between them. Initially resistant to the idea of caring for a cat, Shiki finds herself gradually forming an unexpected bond as she navigates her newfound responsibility. Meanwhile, in another part of the city, Ririsu Miyazuki seeks solace at the site of her friend's suicide and encounters Fujino Asagami, a fellow student grappling with her own traumatic past. Despite their differences, an unlikely connection is forged between them, as Asagami helps Miyazuki confront her grief and contemplate life beyond despair. As snowflakes fill the winter air, two months later, Mikiya and Shiki celebrate New Year's together, sparking tension with his sister Azaka, who chooses to spend the holiday with her friends instead of her family.
