The Exchange Student

Monsieur Bosquier, the owner of an esteemed private school, finds himself at odds with his eldest son Philippe's lackluster performance on end-of-year exams. Desperate for a solution, he devises an exchange program: Philippe will travel to England to perfect his English while the affluent whisky distiller Mac Farrel sends his daughter, Shirley, to live with the Bosquiers in France. However, Philippe has other plans—he intends to spend the summer holiday sailing on a yacht with friends and thus enlists Michonnet, one of his classmates, to impersonate him in England. The ruse is eventually exposed, but as fate would have it, Philippe and Shirley kindle a romantic connection, which leads them to embark on an impulsive journey to Scotland for a surprise wedding. This heartwarming comedy of errors explores themes of self-discovery, young love, and the unpredictability of life.
