Guillaume, a passionate inventor, has developed an impressive machine that can clean dirty air by capturing pollutants in air balloons and then transporting them far away. Upon demonstrating this innovative device to some Japanese businessmen after a boozy dinner, they place an enormous order for 5,000 units. However, Guillaume's home-based production setup is quickly overwhelmed by the demand, leading to mounting tension with his wife Bernadette.Exhausted from the strain of her husband's growing obsession and their deteriorating personal life, Bernadette decides to leave him. In a surprising turn of events, she decides to take action against Guillaume by running for mayor in an effort to avenge their broken relationship. As their lives become further intertwined with politics and invention, the couple must navigate their new roles while confronting their personal issues, ultimately questioning what they truly value and desire.
