The Decline of the American Empire

In this character-driven comedy-drama set in Montreal, four university professors - Remy, Claude, Pierre, and Alain - assemble at a rustic country house to prepare a meal together. As they cook and converse, the focus shifts to candid conversations about sex, relationships, and personal encounters. Meanwhile, their respective partners - Louise, Dominique, Diane, and Danielle - indulge in activities at an urban health gym, sharing similar discussions on the female body and men. Later that evening, all parties converge at the country house for dinner, which leads to an unexpected twist with the arrival of Mario, an old acquaintance of Diane, who brings his own surprise along.
