The year is 1979 in a small town in Ohio where a group of youngsters embark on making their very own zombie movie using a Super-8 camera. Their summer takes an unexpectedly dark turn when they happen to witness a horrifying train derailment while filming near the tracks. Shaken and fortunate to have survived, they soon realize that this accident wasn't just an unfortunate coincidence but rather part of something far more sinister. As strange events unfold in their town and people begin to disappear without a trace, panic sets in.Deputy Jackson Lamb, the father of one of the young filmmakers, finds himself embroiled in the mystery as he determinedly searches for answers behind this chilling series of occurrences. What starts out as an innocent pastime for the kids quickly spirals into a life-threatening situation, forcing them to put their amateur zombie movie aside and use their newfound camaraderie to uncover the terrifying truth that lies beneath the seemingly peaceful surface of their quiet town.
