Smugglers

In the small fishing village of Kunchon during the 1970s, two close friends, Choon-ja and Jin-sook, along with their families, rely on their exceptional abilities as traditional women divers to collect seafood for survival. However, when nearby factories begin to shut down, leaving the divers struggling to make ends meet, they are forced to turn to smuggling as a means of sustenance. As the illicit activities escalate in the community, once tranquil Jin-sook's family find themselves overwhelmed by the consequences of their actions. This heartfelt and compelling film explores themes of friendship, survival, and the impact of change on a close-knit coastal community.
