Seance on a Wet Afternoon

Myra Savage is a British housewife from a modest background who decides to explore her spiritual side by claiming to be a medium. With her asthmatic and under-employed husband, Billy, they host seances in their living room in an attempt to bring in some extra income. Seeking to boost her credibility as a psychic, Myra comes up with a convoluted plan to kidnap the young daughter of a wealthy couple and subsequently 'help' the police locate the missing child. The film explores themes of deceit, desperation, and the lengths people are willing to go for financial gain or validation in society.
