The late 18th-century Russian countryside serves as an intriguing backdrop for a tale of superstition, paganism, and Orthodox Christianity intermingling. In this world, twin girls find themselves torn apart when one is accused of draining the life force from her sibling through possession. The atmosphere is further enriched by the presence of a young man, stigmatized as an outcast, who ardently crafts mechanical wings in his quest to emulate Icarus' flight.
