In the small town of Northfork, Montana, it's 1955 and change is on the horizon. A powerful hydroelectric dam is set to be constructed in the nearby mountains, but at a great cost: the valley will be engulfed by water, forcing residents to leave their homes for higher ground. An Evacuation Committee of six men has been tasked with relocating the townspeople, and they've made considerable progress. However, not everyone wants to leave so easily.Among those resisting the move are a priest tending to a sickly orphan, and a young boy who believes he is part of a celestial group searching for their way home. As the floodwaters draw nearer, the remaining residents must confront the challenges of leaving behind not just their homes but also their deep connections to the land they've always known. This poignant tale weaves together themes of progress, faith, and the power of community in the face of monumental change.
