In this heartwarming comedy, Benjamin "Benjy" Stone, a budding comic writer, finds himself in an unlikely mentorship with his idol, the legendary yet troubled actor Alan Swann. Benjy's world is turned upside down when he discovers that his screen hero's charismatic on-screen persona fails to translate into reality. Aging Swann struggles with alcohol, womanizing, and stage fright off-camera.As fate would have it, Benjy is tasked with babysitting the floundering star before his big performance on a popular variety show. This role reversal pushes Benjy out of his comfort zone as he tries to help Swann overcome his personal demons and regain his lost glory.
