In the bustling streets of Taipei during the tumultuous 1980s, a group of five teenage boys - Mosquito, Monk, Dragon, White Monkey and A-Lan - find themselves constantly subjected to bullying and oppression. Yearning for freedom and control over their lives, they join the "Gang of Princes," a local gang determined to resist authority and not let anyone push them around anymore. As the Gang's influence grows and their reputation spreads throughout the neighborhood, rival gangs become increasingly envious of their success and begin to challenge the young members, leading to a series of dangerous encounters that will test their loyalty and spirit. "Monga" takes an authentic look at coming-of-age in a harsh urban environment, showcasing the resilience of youth as they navigate the complex gang culture and strive for survival amidst adversity.
