Plot:

In the bleak winter of 1944 Milan, a fierce battle rages between the resistance fighters, known as partisans, and the oppressive fascist forces led by the ruthless Cane Nero. Among these brave partisans is Enne 2, an influential member of the C.N.L., whose life takes an unexpected turn when he comes face to face with Berta, a woman from his past. Three years prior, their paths crossed and love bloomed between them; however, Berta remains steadfast in her decision to stay with her husband rather than rekindle their lost romance. As the tension between Cane Nero's fascists and Enne 2 and his fellow partisans reaches a boiling point, instead of fleeing for his safety in Turin, Enne 2 chooses to wait for Berta. Despite the chaos surrounding them, their shared past and her unwavering devotion to her husband create an intricate dance that tests the limits of love and loyalty during wartime. This gripping tale delves into themes of sacrifice, duty, and the lengths people will go to protect those they hold dear while set against the backdrop of a city at war.
