The Martins family, residing on the outskirts of a bustling Brazilian city, strive to maintain optimism amidst a tumultuous political climate that has elected an extreme right-wing president. As the dust settles from this unexpected change, the lower-middle-class Black family grapples with the realities of their new world. Tércia, the devoted matriarch, navigates her transformed outlook on life after an unforeseen encounter raises questions about her fate. Her steadfast husband, Wellington, invests his dreams in their son Deivinho's soccer career, while Deivinho secretly yearns for a different path—to study astrophysics and venture to Mars. In this intimate family portrait, the Martins also experience the tender complexities of love as Eunice develops feelings for a free-spirited young woman, questioning whether it's time for her to spread her wings and find her own place in the world.
