Emily "Jacks" Jackson, a free-spirited Vogue magazine employee, maintains a rather unorthodox lifestyle in London. While involved with her ex-boyfriend James Wildstone, she also shares a living arrangement with Peter Simon, an accomplished gay screenwriter. Jacks' tendency to underestimate people leads to an interesting turn of events when she encounters Paolo Sarmiento, an Argentinian photographer's assistant whom she mistakenly assumes is homosexual. Unaware that Paolo is actually straight and harbors feelings for her, Jacks continues down this entertaining path, attempting to bring him closer to Peter despite the complexities of their own relationships and emotions.
