Living on One Dollar

Embarking on an eye-opening journey, four inquisitive friends delve into the lives of over one billion people worldwide who survive on just a dollar per day. With a video camera as their only companion, they choose to live this reality for themselves, relocating to rural Pena Blanca, Guatemala, where each will spend 56 dollars for 56 days. The experiment exposes them to the harsh challenges of E. Coli contamination, financial strain, and the disconcerting absence of simple solutions to profound issues. However, through encounters with their resourceful neighbors - Rosa, Anthony, and Chino - they find strength and kindness that provide a beacon of hope amidst adversity. Reflecting on these experiences, the friends return home as changed individuals, motivated to share their newfound insights with fellow students and inspire them to take action in making a difference for those less fortunate.
