Live and Become

The film revolves around the heartrending story of Ethiopia in the early 1980s, when the black Falashas were finally acknowledged as genuine Jewish descendants and clandestinely relocated to Israel. In a poignant twist of events, on the eve of their transportation, a young son of a Jewish mother tragically passes away. Unable to bear the thought of leaving her child behind, she makes an agonizing decision: she substitutes him with a nine-year-old Christian boy, giving him the name Schlomo and embarking on a journey that will change their lives forever. The narrative unfolds, exploring themes of identity, belonging, and the resilience of human spirit as it follows the duo on their quest for a new beginning in a foreign land.
