Description:
In January 1920, the heartbreaking reality of war still lingers as France searches for the remains of 350,000 missing soldiers. Major Dellaplane is dedicated to bridging the gap between the living and those lost in combat by meticulously matching fallen soldiers with families' descriptions. Driven by a sense of duty and morality, he refuses to accept the concept of "the unknown soldier." When the high-society, politically connected Madame Irène de Courtil enters his life, desperately seeking her missing husband, she initially bristles at the Major's abrupt yet empathetic approach. However, as their paths repeatedly cross and she witnesses firsthand Dellaplane's unwavering courage in a world still reeling from devastating consequences of war, an unexpected connection forms between them. This bond grows stronger when the Major discovers a remarkable link between Irène's husband and a local teacher. With newfound hope, Irène extends a life-changing offer to Dellaplane, pushing him to confront whether he has truly done all that is possible to honor the memories of fallen soldiers and find his own path to closure.
