Les trois soeurs

In the small town where Olga, Masha, and Irina Prozoroff dwell, life feels empty after losing their father who commanded the local army post. Each sister struggles to find meaning in her own way: Olga as a teacher yearning for family, Masha in a loveless marriage with the schoolmaster and in love with another man, and Irina working at the telegraph office seeking gaiety. The arrival of Natasha, their brother's new wife, adds further disillusionment as her coarse demeanor threatens to take over their family home.The sisters dream of a fresh start in Moscow, but their daily lives keep them tethered to this small town. When the army post is eventually withdrawn, they find themselves at a crossroads. Haunted by past failures, the three women courageously decide it's time to seek purpose and hope in their lives. Through their shared experiences, they explore themes of longing, love, and resilience as they navigate through the challenges of their purposeless existence.
