Lawrence of Arabia

CHEYENNE is an American television western series that originally aired on ABC from 1955 to 1963, totaling 108 black-and-white episodes. Set against the backdrop of the Wild West after the Civil War, the show follows the life of Cheyenne Bodie, a former army scout who transitions into various roles such as cowboy and lawman. Known for his larger-than-life hero persona, this series introduced audiences to an innovative hour-long format featuring continuing characters, which paved the way for future episodic storytelling in television dramas. Notably, CHEYENNE was the first hour-long western and the first drama series with recurring characters to last more than a single season, while also marking Warner Brothers' entry into original TV series production. William T. Orr, credited as the pioneer of studio-based television production, oversaw this groundbreaking show, which ultimately served as a blueprint for numerous Warner Brothers original series that followed in subsequent years.
