Kit Kat

Sheikh Hosny is a blind man living in the Kit Kat neighborhood alongside his elderly mother and his discontent son, Youssef. As Youssef harbors dreams of escaping to Europe in search of work, he becomes involved with Fatima, a divorced woman who shares his desire for a change of scenery. Despite his handicap, Sheikh Hosny refuses to acknowledge the limitations that blindness may impose on him and aspires to fulfill the fantasy of riding a motorcycle - something that seemingly able-bodied individuals also dream of pursuing. In an attempt to escape the harsh realities of life, he turns to smoking hashish with his fellow neighborhood residents at night, a temporary reprieve from the pain caused by losing his wife and selling the family home. The film delves into themes of hope amidst hardship, self-acceptance, and the desire for change while highlighting the strength of familial bonds in overcoming adversity.
