Terry Griffith's spirit of determination and refusal to be sidelined as a female writer leads her on an unconventional journey at her high school. Convinced that her gender has hindered her success, Terry devises a plan to switch schools under the guise of a male student. With the help of her brother Buddy, she becomes so convincing that her newfound friendships with fellow students, particularly the charming Rick, become deeply meaningful.
