In 1989 East Berlin, a young woman named Suzie is unceremoniously expelled from high school just before graduation, forcing her to take up work in a cable factory. A serendipitous moment occurs when she unwittingly becomes the subject of an impromptu photograph, which catapults her into the obscure fashion world of the German Democratic Republic (GDR).Elsa Wilbrodt, the esteemed editor-in-chief of Sibylle - the GDR's influential fashion magazine - selects Suzie to grace its cover. As she navigates this unexpected realm, Suzie encounters Rudi, a gay fashion designer immersed in Berlin's underground scene, and Coyote, a talented photographer. This newfound world exposes her to creativity, self-expression, and camaraderie, challenging the rigid norms of her previous life.As Suzie begins to carve out a niche for herself, she must grapple with the choice of whether to abandon the familiarity and safety of her past in favor of an unknown future that promises freedom and self-discovery.
