Tom and Anna Wright, an enterprising yet financially strapped couple from America, take on the challenge of restoring Anna's inherited home in London. As their dreams of owning a house and starting a family begin to fade due to mounting debt, they stumble upon an intriguing twist of fate: their tenant from the apartment below has passed away, leaving behind half a million dollars hidden within his walls. Initially resistant to the idea, Tom and Anna eventually decide to use only what they need to alleviate their financial burden. However, as the allure of unlimited resources takes hold, their once simple plan spirals out of control, inadvertently catching the attention of the original thief who now sees them as a serious threat.
