In the aftermath of their legendary battle against spectral forces in New York City, the original Ghostbusters have found themselves struggling to maintain a foothold five years on. Stripped of their former status and credibility, they've had no choice but to take on a variety of odd jobs to keep afloat. However, when Dana Barrett, now a single mother, finds herself and her baby in perilous circumstances due to another haunting event, it's time for Peter Venkman and his fearless team of paranormal investigators to return to action.As the city is once again threatened by sinister forces - this time in the form of rivers of slimy psycho-reactive ectoplasm and the dreadful reincarnation of the 16th-century tyrant Vigo the Carpathian - it's up to these supernatural crime fighters to save humanity once more.
