Flying Leathernecks

Major Daniel Kirby, an experienced military officer with a strict sense of discipline, assumes command of a squadron of Marine aviators on the brink of combat deployment. The pilots under his leadership are skilled and dedicated but often lack the necessary toughness to make difficult decisions in the heat of battle. Capt. Carl 'Griff' Griffin, an exceptionally skilled flier, stands out as the main cause of this shortcoming. Kirby finds him ill-suited for command due to his reluctance to make the challenging calls that may require putting men in danger and ultimately risking their lives. As the squadron prepares for battle, it becomes a race against time for Major Kirby to instill discipline and instigate change before they face the realities of war.
