Description:

In this poignant drama, the renowned director of a traveling theater troupe finds himself in a series of unforeseen circumstances upon reconnecting with his former lover. Set against the backdrop of a traditional Japanese theatre scene, the film delicately explores themes of love, responsibility, and the impact of past choices on current lives. As the master's return to his old flame triggers an unexpected chain reaction, the consequences are felt by everyone involved, particularly the troupe's young members who must confront harsh truths about their personal lives. This thoughtful remake of Ozu's original silent film, The Story of Floating Weeds (1934), offers a sensitive portrayal of human relationships and the complexities they entail.
