In the aftermath of China's Cultural Revolution, Qiu Shi, a gifted poet, emerges from his six-year imprisonment. As he is transported by boat to his new destination under the watchful eyes of two officers, Qiu encounters an assortment of travelers who have also endured their fair share of adversity in recent years. This journey aboard the vessel serves as a poignant stage for these characters from different walks of life, each carrying their own burdens and stories, to intersect and connect. Through shared glances, whispered exchanges, and moments of camaraderie, they offer fleeting respite from the pain and loss that has shaped their existence thus far.
