The film has its heart in the right place, but unfortunately, the storyline veers off course more often than not. Anne, our pacifist protagonist, juggles saving a native girl, reuniting with her husband, and thwarting an imminent massacre, all while scaling African hills – talk about multitasking! As if that isn’t enough, the dialogue is so clichéd it feels like we’ve heard these lines in every WW1 flick. But hey, at least Anne manages to deliver a riveting lecture on pacifism amidst all the gunfire and explosions; talk about staying true to your beliefs! Rating: 5/10 – I’d recommend watching it for some unintentional laughs with friends over wine, but not as a serious historical drama.

Although the premise had potential for drama and action, it fell flat due to predictable storytelling and a slow pace that made it difficult to stay engaged throughout the film.
The acting did not save this movie either; performances were wooden and lacked emotional depth or conviction. It is hard to connect with characters when their reactions seem stilted and over-rehearsed.
