Ellie and Abbie (and Ellie’s Dead Aunt)

Ellie, a dedicated school captain with a strong sense of responsibility, finds herself captivated by Abbie, a free-spirited and rebellious classmate. Desperate to ask Abbie to the year 12 formal, Ellie concocts an elaborate plan to make the invitation public in a memorable way. Unexpectedly, Ellie's deceased aunt Tara returns from the afterlife, claiming she was sent back as Ellie's fairy godmother. However, Tara's guidance on love and relationships is far from helpful – her advice is heavily influenced by her own experiences as an out lesbian in the '80s, a time when societal norms were vastly different. Navigating this unique situation while staying true to herself presents Ellie with a series of challenges that test her courage and determination.
