Tom Turner, a charming con artist, finds himself at a crossroads when given an unusual ultimatum by a judge: serve time in prison or dedicate a year to honest work. Unexpectedly, Tom's career path leads him to the U.S. Post Office's dead letter office - a place filled with unopened letters and messages, both heartbreaking and amusing.One day, he stumbles upon a particularly touching letter addressed to God, and in an impulsive act of kindness, Tom decides to respond on behalf of the divine entity. Word spreads among his colleagues, and soon they too join the secret Good Samaritan con, using their newfound purpose to bring joy to strangers.
