In a small Byelorussian village, the sudden invasion by German forces upends the quiet life of young Florya. Contrary to his family's wishes, he ventures into the dense forest, seeking solace among the weary Resistance fighters. As fate would have it, Glasha, a fierce and resilient girl, accompanies him back to his village, only to find his entire family and community brutally massacred by the invading forces.
