In the sultry summer of 1989, Texas native Richard Dane encounters an unexpected threat in the form of a home intruder. Acting on instinct and in self-defense, he fatally shoots the burglar, earning him the admiration of his community as a hero. However, this act sets into motion a chain of events that puts his family's safety in jeopardy.As if fate is conspiring against him, Freddy Riley's vengeful father, fresh out of prison and harboring a grudge, arrives in town, determined to seek retribution.
