Set at the edge of the Khyber pass, Sir Sidney Ruff-Diamond oversees a small British outpost guarded by the unconventional Third Foot and Mouth regiment. The soldiers' distinctive kilts provide a unique defense, as local troops are said to be terrified of the "skirted devils," who also apparently forego undergarments. Their fears are well-founded, though, because the Khazi of Kalabar has set his sights on annihilating the British forces. In this humorous and unexpected military adventure, our protagonists must navigate cultural differences, fearsome adversaries, and their own peculiar uniform choices to survive and protect their homeland.
