In a gritty, post-apocalyptic Japan, the once-unified nation has fragmented into 10 separate entities, each controlled by a gang led by a supernaturally powerful "Best." Nozomi Moritomo, an ordinary girl in this extraordinary world, is a "Rest," a non-powered individual trying to make her mark within her local gang. When her childhood friend and role model, the formidable Best Masami Utoko, sustains grievous injuries that leave him unable to fight, Nozomi sets out on a perilous journey to complete the missions tasked to Masami from across Japan.Throughout their travels, Nozomi is joined by an unlikely band of companions: Yukina Kosaka, a timid girl with an uncanny knack for getting lost; Ai Hibiki, a bubbly and food-loving comrade who never misses an opportunity to indulge in local delicacies; and Chiaya Misono, a mysterious girl who conceals her face behind a gas mask. Together on their motorcycles, the quartet navigates treacherous territorial wars, heated disputes, and even shadowy conspiracies as they race to complete Masami's unfinished business and restore order to Japan.
