Description:

In the heart of London during the year 1761, St. Mary's of Bethlehem serves a sinister purpose; not a sanctuary for healing, but rather a macabre spectacle where affluent visitors gather to gawk at the tormented souls confined within its walls as though they were caged animals in a menagerie. Amidst this chilling scene steps Nell Bowen, an intrepid observer repulsed by the squalor and cruelty endured by the unfortunate patients, colloquially referred to as Bedlam. As she delves deeper into the horrifying world of this notorious madhouse, Nell's empathy for its inhabitants propels her towards an unyielding quest for change in a society that shrouds mental illness in shame and ignorance.
