Thomas Malone, once an esteemed police officer, now finds himself behind bars serving a life sentence for a crime he didn't commit. Offered a chance at redemption through an illicit proposition, Malone is presented with a dire choice: participate in a deadly game called Apex or remain imprisoned forever. This perilous contest involves six wealthy hunters who pay to hunt and kill another person on a secluded island. With nothing to lose but his life, Malone agrees and sets foot onto the treacherous grounds of this remote location. As the tension escalates and the hunters' ruthless instincts surface, it becomes increasingly challenging for Malone to survive, evade capture, and ultimately regain his freedom.
