“Another Simple Favor” stars Michele Morrone in this thrilling crime comedy set on the picturesque island of Capri – or as I like to call it, “Murder Island.” Emily and Stephanie’s lavish wedding is nothing short of a masterclass in pretentiousness. As guests bask in glamour and Italian sunshine, Emily’s impending marriage to a wealthy businessman ratchets up the tension between our leading ladies. The film takes unexpected turns into betrayal and murder, but not in the suspenseful way you’d hope. It’s more like a series of plot holes with a twist, challenging the viewer’s loyalty to sticking around for the finale. And oh, what a climactic reveal it is! Just when you thought nothing could surprise you, this movie makes you realize how true that statement actually is. In terms of acting? Well, it was simple, predictable, and about as favorable as a root canal. But hey, at least it gets one star for trying to be something it’s not.

“Another Simple Favor” was a rollercoaster of emotions that left me breathless, and while the plot kept me guessing until the very end, it also broke my heart with its unexpected twists and turns. The film deserves a solid 10/10 for delivering a captivating and emotionally charged experience that left a lasting impact.

Another Simple Favor (2025) was unfortunately quite disappointing compared to other crime thriller films. The picturesque setting of Capri was indeed stunning, but that was about all the praise I can give. While the plot did take unexpected turns with betrayal and murder, it often felt like these twists were contrived, rather than natural progressions of character motivations or storytelling.
The performances from Michele Morrone and co-stars felt lackluster, particularly between Emily Nelson (Morrone) and Stephanie Smothers where the supposedly long-standing friendship seemed forced instead of genuine, which made it hard to engage with their characters emotionally. The execution of the film also left much to be desired; there were several instances where editing choices felt abrupt, making for a choppy viewing experience overall.
Given these disappointments, I would give Another Simple Favor a rating of 9 out of 10 – not because it was great but because it wasn’t totally unwatchable. It could have been so much better with stronger character development and more cohesive storytelling.

“Another Simple Favor”, directed by Luca Guadagnino in 2025, boasts stunning cinematography that captures the picturesque beauty of Capri and its surroundings. The film is a masterclass in pacing, weaving an intricate tale of relationships while maintaining tension throughout. While the wedding scenes are lavish and glamorous, the dark undercurrents beneath the surface make for riveting viewing. Although the plot takes unexpected turns that might leave some viewers puzzled, Guadagnino’s confident direction ensures a balanced blend of comedy, crime, and thriller elements, culminating in a captivating mystery film. I would rate this movie 11 out of 10 for its exceptional visuals, storytelling, and performance by Michele Morrone.

Oh boy, “Another Simple Favor” starring the charmingly wooden Michele Morrone is as thrilling as watching paint dry on an overcast day! The idyllic island of Capri provides the perfect setting for a plot that would give soap operas a run for their money. I mean, who doesn’t love a good old fashioned murder mystery surrounded by lavish weddings and luxurious Italian landscapes? And let’s not forget our dynamic duo – Emily Nelson and Stephanie Smothers – giving new meaning to the phrase ‘frenemies’. The twists and turns are so unexpected that they make a rollercoaster at Six Flags look like a merry-go-round. Honestly, if you’re looking for an Academy Award-winning performance or a plot with more holes than Swiss cheese, this is the movie for you! I give it 12 out of 10 for sheer entertainment value and the ability to make any viewer question their life choices.
