Absolutely Fabulous

In this French adaptation of the iconic British sitcom Absolutely Fabulous, director Gabriel Aghion takes us on an outrageous comedy adventure with two unapologetically extravagant characters, played by Josiane Balasko and Nathalie Baye. Eddie and Patsy are unstoppable forces in a world of high fashion and hedonistic indulgence, leaving no desire unexplored and no opportunity unseized - be it for the latest designer labels or romantic encounters. A morning-after scene of lavish excess and debauchery leads to another day of champagne feasts and caviar, much to the dismay of Eddie's sophisticated mother and her resentful daughter. When the duo hears about a good-looking young Rollerblading delivery boy, their insatiable lust kicks into overdrive, setting off an entertaining chain of events in this 2001 Toronto Film Festival selection.
