Charleen, a melancholic 15-year-old, finds solace in the music of Kurt Cobain and grapples with an array of challenges in her life. Her best friend Isa, once a source of companionship, has started to drift apart as she becomes more absorbed in her own world. On top of that, her father is absent, leaving a void in their family dynamic, while her mother's new relationship with her biology teacher complicates matters further.In the midst of this tumultuous environment, Charleen takes on an apprenticeship preparing deceased bodies for funerals - an unusual and somewhat macabre experience that brings an unexpected sense of calm to her life. However, as she struggles with depression and grapples with the reality that her musical heroes have all died, she begins to feel a disconnect between her own life and those she admires.
