Description:
In a poignant tale of displacement and reconciliation, we follow the story of a man who embarks on a journey back to the familiar grounds of his once-cherished hometown after spending fifteen years in an asylum during the tumultuous era of World War I. Upon his return, he is met with a series of unfamiliar landscapes; buildings are newly constructed, streets have been renamed, and the vibrant community he remembers has become almost unrecognizable. The crux of his new reality comes to light as he learns that his daughter, whom he hasn't seen in years, is now a grown woman preparing for her own marriage. Struggling with the emotional burden of being away from his family and grappling with his inner demons, the protagonist finds himself at a crossroads between embracing this new world and seeking solace within the familiarity of the past. As he attempts to rebuild bridges with his daughter and be present in her life, he must also confront the personal battles that have defined him throughout his time away. The movie beautifully explores themes of father-daughter relationships, mental health stigmas, and the struggle to adapt to a rapidly changing world.
